AFANDI

Uzbek cuisine is where Silk Road meets with Soviet Union says our 26 years old chef / owner Kamola Akhmedova. Kamola worked on recipes trying to make Uzbek food more comfortable for New Yorkers and created a unique modern Uzbek food menu that is Vegan-friendly.

She combined all her culinary skills and personal recipes and brings to NYC's East Village neighborhood the food she grew up with: Tashkent region wedding pilaf, popular USSR appetizers like batter fried cauliflower, stuffed cabbage, veal tongue in creamy mushroom sauce, Russian potato with mushroom, ricotta cheese pancakes vs Syrniki, blintzes, pierogies, Xinjiang style hand-pulled noodle, handmade dumplings, and in-house preserves and sauces

...

Make a small trip from Silk Road to the Soviet Union, visiting us at 149 1st ave New York

Next to The Bean coffee shop,

the corner of E 9th street and 1st ave
